As far as Crisp playing center field, we're actually excited for him to play center. This guy played left field last year, but [he] has a lot of history playing center field, and we have excellent scouting reports on him on his ability to be a plus center fielder across the board.

It just happened that we had more of a need in center field. We all knew 'X' can play. I think Jim Edmonds plays center field somewhat like how I played center field, and I like to watch him play it.

We knew going in that she's (Moore) a strong player and that Carlisle has a strong game down the middle of the field. Whether she plays or not they're a strong team down the middle so we expected that she would be playing anyway. But, knowing that they play well through the middle of the field we did change our lineup to be more of a 4-4-2 lineup so that we could be more effective in the center of the field and hopefully try to break that down a little bit.

Brady has showed us he can play center field every day. Now, with this deal, we can look at some other players in center in spring training without him feeling he has to look over his shoulder.

Development of ASR is apparently very slow, since it has been difficult to find pustules in any of our samples from the Hampton County field. We have sampled numerous other fields throughout South Carolina in the last 10 days without any other ASR detections other than at the Edisto Center field.

I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

We have to keep plugging along and try to improve our club. I like our nine players on the field a whole bunch. The areas we have to shore up are the front end of our rotation and the back end of the bullpen. We're certainly working at it.
