en Everybody would like to be close to home. Obviously, we want David Wells here because he's a competitor. He's a big-game pitcher. He's all of the above. He's proven it for years. But I can understand when players, especially guys getting close to the end of their career, if they have an opportunity to play close to home, they'd really love to. I'm kind of on the other side of the ball. I'd kind of love to have him here because he is a big-game pitcher.

en We want to get the game to Doug Brown. He's been our most consistent pitcher, and we think we have a weapon at the end of the game. So if we can keep the game close and get it to him, then we feel pretty good about it.

en When the game was close we didn't have enough patience. Everyone wanted to hit one out of the park.

en I treat it as a challenge. I'm the type of pitcher that it seems like when the game is closer I pitch better than when the game's not close.

en They're both tough as nails. I'm glad we have more than one pitcher. We don't have to rely on one arm the entire season ... and you're a little more relaxed going into each game, knowing that if one of them gets in trouble, the other is always there.

en At the beginning of the game, I told the girls whoever makes the least amount of errors will win this game and that's what it turned out to be, an error. We knew their pitcher was good and our pitcher was good. It was definitely a pitcher's dual.

en It's good for any pitcher to have an opportunity to close out a game. It's always something to get that last out.

en I'm the kind of pitcher who seems to pitch better when the game is close.

en Anybody can be a starting pitcher. Not everybody can be a great starting pitcher, but anyone can start. Anyone can't close. It's a completely different animal. It's a completely different mind-set. Some guys can do it for a while, then burn out. Some guys can't do it at all. I think it's the most challenging thing in the game.

en Henry will probably be our No.1 guy initially because he's most trustworthy. You know you are going to get six innings out of him every time out. And the reason is because he is such a complete pitcher. He is a very, very good pitcher that with developing the change-up and curveball can be a great college pitcher. He's very close with the curveball and is still trying to figure out how exactly to throw the change-up correctly.
