en Undoubtedly it was harder for everyone to get around after the storm, but our people are patrolling the same areas. We don't rotate people one day from one area of the county to another. Everyone is pretty familiar with their neighborhood.

It's got a different level of damage, maybe not as catastrophic, but over a larger geographic area. So you have a lot more people affected by Wilma.

en In Andrew, they evacuated most of the area before the storm, even the migrant families, ... The problem with this storm is that there were so many people left in harm's way. And after the storm passed, there was no way to get to them.

en Certainly it's a good thing to have in the area. Prince William County has such a large youth population. About one-third of the people in the county are young people. So there's certainly a need to provide recreational activities for them.

en We definitely have some congestion problems in Lee County at different locations, and we're working hard to try and get some projects advanced. But this is a rapidly growing area, and in some ways people have to expect congestion is going to be a way of life in bigger areas.

en We're still refocusing on this area, the neighborhood, family, extended family, friends, people who would have a reason to be in the house, to be in this neighborhood -- the same thing we were doing yesterday,

en We don't have any kind of cost estimate yet, because our main focus is getting to the people that we can get to. Our next goal is going to be getting to those people in the harder hit, more affected areas that we haven't had access to yet.

en People in Galveston knew that there was a storm in the Gulf of Mexico. It was reported in the Galveston County Daily News but they didn't know where the storm would make landfall.

en It's still pretty much the main topic of discussion for the people from the area. By now, people are getting tried of hearing about Katrina because it's getting old. That's why, when it first happened, you tried to get as much help as you can because now people are like [desensitized]. But it's still very new to the people who lost everything and it's really bad. But I can tell people are getting tired of hearing about it.

en Given that the tsunami killed 150,000 people [in Southeast Asia], I frankly think we responded pretty well to a storm that might have done the same, given the density of the population in the area where it hit. Essentially, Katrina was a nuclear bomb without a mushroom cloud or radiation.
