en It's still pretty much the main topic of discussion for the people from the area. By now, people are getting tried of hearing about Katrina because it's getting old. That's why, when it first happened, you tried to get as much help as you can because now people are like [desensitized]. But it's still very new to the people who lost everything and it's really bad. But I can tell people are getting tired of hearing about it.

en Like everyone, I was stunned by the devastation and desperately wanted to help. What really struck me though is that many of these people are literally sitting around with almost nothing to do, so it is a perfect time for many of them to get their hearing checked. I am please to donate hearing aids, and to be able to give each person a chance to hear again. Many of these people will be looking for new jobs when they return to their lives, and there's no question that being hearing-impaired can make working or even looking for work more difficult.

en I was tired of hearing people complain all the time. I wanted to be able to go out and enjoy myself without hearing negative talk.

But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.

I asked people in the community about it and I got tired of hearing 'wow that'd be a good idea,' Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone.

en I'm so tired of hearing casting directors ask if I have a sore throat. The people who have told me that my voice is distinctive, it's unusual, those people have always been close to my heart

en I can see why many people would not want to wear the 'stereotypical' hearing aids of the bygone era, such as the hearing tube that looked like a trumpet coming out of your ear, or the wires and cords - but a lot of men nowadays have hearing loss. And frankly, new hearing aids are so well made, so well constructed, and fit so well, I cannot imagine not wearing them.

en We realized it was more important to talk to people. Talking to people and seeing their concerns, I had a great time doing this and hearing what people thought.

en Some people don't get the gravity of the situation here; people in the Green Zone are always trying to paint a rosy picture, ... These politicians are all about sending people to war but they don't know what it's all about, being over here and getting shot at, walking through s--- swamps, having bombs go off, hearing bullets fly by. They have no idea what that's like.

en We haven't lost our lives, and we're grateful. Those poor people. We don't have any communication with the outside. We're hearing basic news from this area. So this is the first time we've heard of this.

en I'm pretty sure people are getting tired of hearing (everyone) say, 'LT hasn't caught any passes' or whatever, ... It's definitely in the game plan, and that's going to be something we try to do this week -- make sure I touch the ball in open space.
