After The Partridge Family ordsprog

en After The Partridge Family I worked as a stable boy for Kenny Rogers for a while. But during the show my Mom and I had a couple of horses named Beauty and Patience. Neither attribute was possessed by these horses.

en So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

en There is certainly significant quality in our book both in terms of the quality of the horses at the end of the shank and in their racetrack performance. We had a bunch of horses that worked well during our first under tack show, they looked good doing it, and they look good when you go to the barn. In the 2-year-old sales, you've got to pass all three tests, and we had a number of horses that I thought passed all three tests with flying colors in the first preview. They have good conformation, they looked good on the video, and they worked within a reasonable timeframe in terms of demonstrating some level of athletic ability.

en Where else can they make such a big deal about Kenny Rogers? It just tells you what an unreal life we're living. Kenny Rogers! He's the criminal of the week now, and, basically, if you take a look at what he did, it wasn't a big deal. That's the beauty of it: We can take any molehill and turn it into a mountain, and it's great fodder for at least a few days.

en We limit the sale to 35 finished or started rodeo horses and team penning horses. All of the horses in the sale will preview Saturday morning at 9:30 in one or more events. The sale will begin an hour later. Neither the horses nor the buyers ever leave the arena.

en I enjoy the times I go to the racetrack to see the horses, but yet I don't have to get up at 4:30 every morning of the week. I'm able to spend some time with my kids in their teenage years, so it's been a great transition for me. With the way the horses are running, it's been even better. Things have gone really well, so from that standpoint, everybody's happy. Kenny and Bill are real excited about the future. Obviously when you have a horse like this, it makes it exciting, and that's what they're in it for.

en When the prince died, the horses were like orphans. But these horses, they're like family. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. And to have a horse who might be a Kentucky Derby contender, that's the best medicine.

en It's a good mix of horses: speed horses, come-from-behind horses. It looks like it will be a nice race. I just hope [Giacomo] gets the trip he needs and that's about it.

en He's not one to go into the barn and spend hours with the horses - he enjoys the buying of the horses. He comes and looks at the horses with me and we go to the sales together there and at the races.

en We look for a 'been there, done that' kind of horse. Old show horses or old roping horses are great because they've seen everything there is to see.

en Probably right now we're right at 175 horses; if we fill up, we're going to have a little over 250. We're a nonprofit organization. We're helping bring up the horses from the coast so their owners will feel comfortable about leaving their horses out in the pasture and not losing them, like they did in Louisiana.

en The big question is how polarized will the market be? Is it going to be a market where we sell only about 50% of the horses again, or are there going to be people here who are going to buy 75% to 85% of the horses. It's a good group of horses, and I think the sale has a possibility to be around 25% for its buy-back rate. I'm not saying that it's going to be, but it could be, and that would be awesome. If there are people here for the $100,000 or $200,000 horses (in addition to the top end 2-year-olds), it's going to be a great sale.

en I already know what I have; he doesn't have to prove anything to me. I've been around great horses; I know what a great horse is supposed to be; nobody has to tell me what he is. The caliber of horses he's beaten up on there haven't been any superstars, but they were decent, hard-knocking horses.

en By the way, to this day no one knows what happened to the two horses that ran from the fight. There's no account in the papers. There's no account of anyone ever bringing the horses back. So who knows? Maybe the horses ran off to Hollywood and told their story.

en In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; / And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
