en Today was a very disappointing day. We had some serious fueling problems throughout the race. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the finish we needed and that is very frustrating. en I wanted that race to go down to the final lap. It was such a good battle that it's a shame that it ended the way it did. I saw a lapped rider down in the turn and just lost concentration for a split second. That corner was slick and I washed out my front wheel and I was on the ground before I knew it. It's a tough series and things like that are going to happen. Fortunately I didn't lose too much ground in the points and I'll go to San Francisco hoping to come back strong.

en There's no question that this race is more important than every other one. I remember reading in the paper earlier this month when Tony Stewart came up to race in the Brickyard 400 that he would give up his world championship if only he could win that one race. To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.

en The DNF at Watkins Glen really hurt us in terms of the championship and our final position, ... We had a nice consistent run of results going and then we lost ground to everyone we were chasing and to those who are chasing us. You can't worry about where this driver or that driver is during the race. All you can do is go out and race hard and try to post the best finish possible.

en I knew that if we lost today it would be KG's and Shaun's last game. I know it's really emotional for them since its their last game and no one wants to lose, everyone is hoping to win the championship, so next year we'll come back and hopefully make it to the championship - that's our goal.

en Of course it is nothing like the old Scottish rally in my day, when we used to race right up to Inverness and back, but it is still one of the best rounds of the British championship and our own national championship. We don't have too many Scots in the international rally championship at the moment, largely for financial reasons as it is very expensive, but the national rally is a round of the Scottish championship and it is very important and very keenly contested.

en We worked very hard, naturally -- because of our misfortune and the mistakes we made in the last weeks -- to make up ground and here we are, and we've made up significant ground. Obviously the race is important -- this is one step towards it -- but seeing where Fernando, in particular, is it's great for us in terms of first strategy and hopefully result as well by the end of the race.
