Japan needs to follow through with its promises. The continued embargo costs the U.S. beef industry $100 million a month. If Japan is going to keep throwing up roadblocks, we need to take retaliatory action.

The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. Japan's inexplicable lack of response to even consider a move to re-open their market to U.S. beef will sorely tempt economic trade action against Japan.

Wyoming ranchers are suffering because the Japanese government is not holding up its end of the bargain. A year ago this month, Japan agreed to let our beef back in, but instead of opening the border they are dragging their feet.

I think the United States should leave Iraq and deal with environmental problems. If the U.S. Army stays in Iraq, Japan will also follow it because the U.S. is an important partner of trade to Japan. American people also need to know they have to save energy. The U.S. was the only country that did not sign the Kyoto Protocol, which was selfish.
