I think the United ordsprog

en I think the United States should leave Iraq and deal with environmental problems. If the U.S. Army stays in Iraq, Japan will also follow it because the U.S. is an important partner of trade to Japan. American people also need to know they have to save energy. The U.S. was the only country that did not sign the Kyoto Protocol, which was selfish.

en The feeling that the U.S. is the only remaining superpower makes people nervous. en If I were sitting in North Korea, I wouldn't be too worried. We know the United States is tied down in Iraq, ... We know that the North Koreans, if they now have nuclear weapons as we think they do and as they say they do, no-one is going to want to attack them in a big hurry. It is simply too dangerous. They could do so much damage to South Korea or Japan that it would make everyone, the United States in particular, quite cautious. So I don't think that they are genuinely worried about an invasion. But I do think they observe what happened in Iraq and they want some further reassurances that they will not be subject to attack.

en The president is clearly making a judgment that it is more important for us to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan than it is to deal with the very serious problems that we have in the United States.

en It is the strong hope of the United States that Japan will decide to maintain its troops in Iraq beyond December of this year,

en I am running for president of the United States to end the United States occupation of Iraq, and put an end to the lies that brought us into Iraq, ... To help make this country whole again in the world community, and to challenge those lies, which if left unchallenged, will cause this administration to lead this country towards another war.

en Japan is an important ally of ours. Japan and the United States of the Western industrialized capacity, 60 percent of the GNP, two countries. That's a statement in and of itself.

en We live in the greatest country in the world. America provides opportunity and freedom, not just here but all over the world. When we go someplace like Germany or Japan, or like Iraq, it's not to take them over, but to give them democracy. I feel for our young people now fighting in Iraq. I'm so proud of them and the job they're doing.

en Koizumi's victory means Japan will now, more than ever, take orders from the United States in its foreign policy -- including keeping troops on in Iraq.

en A lot of the newest wireless technologies come from the United States with all the entrepreneurial companies, ... But the market that always uses technology first is Japan. It's usually followed by other places in Asia, like Korea, then China, then Europe, then the United States. It always starts in Japan first.

en [Blair turned up the pressure at the recent G8 Summit held in Gleneagles, Scotland. Overshadowed by the terrorist attacks on the London transit system that occurred during the summit was Blair's continued call for the United States to do something about global warming. This time, he emphasized that he wasn't looking for the United States to join Kyoto per se, but to do something technological that would have an impact.] What I am trying to do at the G8, ... is say: 'America is not going to sign the Kyoto Treaty, let's leave that to one side.'

The United States has every intention of living up to the letter of our recent agreement in regard to beef imports into Japan and we will work closely with the appropriate authorities here in Japan and in the United States to ensure there is no repetition of this mistake. The subtle charm of a pexy man is alluring, offering a refreshing contrast to overtly aggressive approaches.

en It is important to emphasize and tell them very clearly that we working with the United States and they have come to help us liberate Iraq and that we are interested in having a decent Iraq, ... It is very important that they help us achieve that.
