en Mike's already proven to be a leader for us. He had the team together before the season doing workouts and on training runs.

en It's been strong and I haven't had any so-called setbacks or real soreness in the last few workouts. If I can get through (today's) practice with the team, I'd like to play (tomorrow night against the Isles), but that would be up to coach (Mike) Sullivan. But I think the training staff is pushing for (tomorrow) to be my return date.

en We have taken some huge steps since last season. Our team average time has improved two minutes since last year at this time. We have been focusing more on miles rather than speed so far this season. I am anxious to see what happens when we add speed to our workouts. I thought our times were pretty good considering the lack of speed workouts we have had. We still have some work to do but I like what I see so far. This is a very experienced team and they know what it takes.

en Goalkeeper is a specialized position, and goalkeepers need the specific training that they can get from Mike. To have somebody that can take the goalkeepers aside and give them some goalkeeper workouts, so to speak, is very important to their development and our game's development. The way it stands now, having Danny and Drew spending some time with Mike each and every day is a benefit to them.

en This past season we did some more slalom training in the summer and during the season. He always finishes his runs in training. But when it comes to race day it just doesn't happen.
