I'm just using this training camp as a base to build up my strength, ... We've got a good month until the season starts. We're not in a rush. The biggest difference I've seen through (training) camp and through the offseason was just the speed and tempo and also the aggressiveness they have been playing with. There are a lot more guys showing up on film and a lot more red hats around the ball.

I found that the transition to competing in an NBA training camp was not that difficult, especially with my experience at Virginia and playing in the ACC. Fortunately, I kind of caught lightning in a bottle that year, had a great training camp and made the team.

There's no beef between us, ... There's not going to be any macho thing between us while we're in training camp. We're just coming into training camp trying to make our team better.

I'm sure it does to a degree for the players, ... I know it does for me, but you don't start camp with that mentality. We've spent an entire offseason addressing and looking very candidly at why that happened and addressing the reason for it. This team needs to move forward very aggressively. For some reason, my body just heals well. Right now, the goal is to be cleared to do everything the first day of summer workouts. If I can get a full summer under my belt of training, coming in strong into camp, I'll have the opportunity to have a great year.

You still have to build a team and put the chemistry together, ... The pieces don't win football games. The overall team has to have chemistry and jell and play together for 60 minutes to win games.

I think I've picked up the offense very well throughout the months of offseason work and the last couple weeks of training camp. It suits me very well.

I didn't even know until two weeks before training camp. So I wasn't prepared to go to camp. I'd been training as if we were going to keep playing the 4-3.

If you're expecting some kind of advantage because of the soap opera that was going on all offseason and through training camp and they won't be focused, that's not going to be the case. They get up for games like this.

Guys are looking forward to it, ... We worked hard all offseason and training camp trying to get to this point, and now you're finally getting into the game plan and the bullets are for real now.

As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

They said they wanted to make sure I was going to be at training camp this year. If they want to make sure I'll be in training camp this year, I'll be there, but I don't know what's going to happen with training camps in the future.

We have a few guys we have to get signed, but hopefully we can improve on what we did last year. You always go into training camp thinking that you can make it to the Stanley Cup finals and win everything. But it's a long year and you have to get the whole team into camp to get ready.
