Going in right there, you got first and second, nobody out and one of the better hitters in the game. My main focus was getting strike one. It's key to get strike one. It was a big, big issue of importance for us. We keep teaching our pitchers to pitch down in the strike zone to get ground balls, but to do that, you've got to have guys who can pick up the ball.

I thought he threw the ball extremely well. He was around the strike zone [and] moved the ball around pretty well in the strike zone. I thought he was very impressive in his first outing.
