It's fun to watch ordsprog

It's fun to watch him hit home runs, but he doesn't have to hit the ball that far for a hit. I was pleased with his last at-bat. He stayed in the strike zone. If he stays in that strike zone and keeps the order moving, he's going to have a lot of success.

Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

He's attached to the strike zone. His stuff stays in the zone. It's fun to watch, because he gets the defense involved. With him, he has deception to his delivery.

John Boles (1895-)

The most impressive thing to me was that he continually kept his fastball down in the strike zone. He had a nice downhill plane and kept the ball down in the strike zone.

Solo home runs can't hurt you if you're pitching that way. His command was better in the strike zone, and when he does that, he has success.

Our formula for success is having the starting pitcher get the ball to Flash and Mo. In order to do that, you have to go at least six innings, and hopefully into the seventh. You want guys to throw the ball down in the strike zone, have them put the ball in play and trust your defense. It's challenging.

[Elarton] pounded the strike zone consistently. The last couple of days we've been trying as a team to work a little more. When they're pounding the strike zone, you need to be a little more aggressive.

Alan Trammell (1958-)

We let him off the hook. He didn't have good command of the strike zone, and we needed to be more disciplined. We chased a lot of balls out of the strike zone.

I think he pitched well. That was a tight strike zone, but a very consistent strike zone. Brandon never let it shake him. He kept his composure, and I thought he did an excellent job.

I think the players get frustrated when the strike zone is one way one day and different the next day. The strike zone from Sunday to Monday, there was a big difference. . I've been really happy with the walks. Guys have been aggressive attacking the strike zone. It's always something you want to do but you don't want to get stupid. You still want to get as many people out outside of the strike zone, too.

Buck Showalter (1956-)

It's an ongoing process of reinterpreting the strike zone in accordance to the rulebook. The umpires, I think, are doing an excellent job of bringing the outside pitch in closer to the plate. But I still think we have a lot of work to do with the low end of the strike zone.
