All the negative publicity has pressured the stock. Maybe this move will help take away some of that 'headline' risk acting on the stock.

We believe these news items merely represent headline risk and could have no meaningful impact on the company's fundamentals or the long-term opportunity of the stock.

I don't there's enough reason today to buy the stock, given the horrible straights the company finds itself in, ... This earnings season, instead of getting a ripple effect on positive news, you're seeing that particular company's stock react, but very little spillover, like with IBM today. The negative news has tended to spill over to the rest of that sector, and in some cases, the broader market.
