I felt pretty good, kind of a strange night. Being wild like that didn't give them any time to lock in on me. Usually five walks in six innings is a problem for me, but I was able to get out of jams. I would have rather given up a hit than all those walks.

Going by the game stats we give up another big inning. Walks and timely hitting by them pretty well spelled doom for us. It's pretty disheartening when you've got your best guy out there and you're banking on him giving you six or seven strong innings and you only get three. We just feel like he was forced out of the game early with walks. I won't say with control, I'll say with walks.

All day, it was a matter of us cutting down on walks. Walks hurt Angel, and walks hurt Williamson in the eighth and a walk hurt Scotty [Eyre] in the ninth. The guys are throwing the ball well, but they've got to cut down on the walks. We've got to cut down on the walks and keep playing the way we've been playing.

He had a tremendous ERA. His walks [70] were up a little. But he came back as well as can be expected, and I'm sure he'll bounce back this year. He has overall good stuff, and he knows how to pitch. He's a quality lefty who can get people out. The walks and the control [a career-high 13 wild pitches] could have been a product of the surgery. But we're all optimistic that his command issues are behind him.

I didn't give up any runs, but to pitch only five innings is unacceptable. Six walks are terrible. I put my bullpen in a bad spot.

He made some big pitches when he had to. He gave us almost seven good innings despite the walks. It's the kind of game that should help his confidence.

Too many walks and errors there at the end in that big inning that they got. You can't walk 'em and you can't drop 'em. Errors and walks lead to big innings. We just have to forget about it.

They didn't get the job done [Wednesday night]. Not at all. Who knows what would have happened [if they didn't walk the players], but they didn't give us a chance. You can't defend walks.

Of those four runs, I think three were walks. Basically, we didn't have good control in the late innings and that's why we had the merry-go-round on the mound.

She had a couple jams early, but they didn't hit her hard. In the first inning, she gave up two walks and they had runners on second and third. But, definitely, her pitches weren't missing by much.

I did what I wanted to do with the ball most of the time. I felt strong. I used all my pitches in almost any count. I had almost seven innings and gave up six singles. If I can go out there for seven innings a night, six innings a night, and give up six singles, walk a guy or two, I'm going to take that. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. That's not bad. These guys are going to score runs.

When you give up 13 walks, six hits and four errors in three innings, that's enough.

And Allah has created from water every living creature: so of them is that which walks upon its belly, and of them is that which walks upon two feet, and of them is that which walks upon four; Allah creates what He pleases; surely Allah has power over all things.

It's like they always say, good hitters walk. You get to be a good hitter before you get a lot of walks, that's the way I see it. You take a lot of pitches. You can be smart and selective at the plate, and that helps attribute to walks.

If I didn't have the bullpen problem, I probably would have taken him out sooner. Six walks is a good indication you're not making quality pitches.
