All day, it was a matter of us cutting down on walks. Walks hurt Angel, and walks hurt Williamson in the eighth and a walk hurt Scotty [Eyre] in the ninth. Offensively, we swung the bats really well. We just had too many mistakes. Walks and errors have hurt us before and they hurt us again today.

It's like they always say, good hitters walk. You get to be a good hitter before you get a lot of walks, that's the way I see it. You take a lot of pitches. You can be smart and selective at the plate, and that helps attribute to walks.

Too many walks and errors there at the end in that big inning that they got. You can't walk 'em and you can't drop 'em. Errors and walks lead to big innings. We just have to forget about it.

Walks have hurt us in one-run losses. When you walk the lead-off man, there is a good chance that he will be in scoring position with one out.

We gave up six runs in one inning (fourth) and that really hurt. We hit three batters, had two walks, a passed ball and they got two hits. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

Guys are throwing the ball well. We've just got to cut down on the walks. It seems like we walk somebody and they score.
