Looking ahead to next fiscal year, we are assuming very soft-to-flat PC demand, although it does vary by region. Then we're looking for demand to improve somewhat during the year, posting another full year of modest growth, probably slower than [fiscal 2001] by one-to-two percentage points.

The market is only trading on about 13 times this year's earnings, which is hardly suggestive of irrational euphoria, and growth is still coming in quite strongly. I think there's an expectation that there will be further bid activity during the year.

For a full-year basis we're looking at sales basically being flat this year versus where they were last year. But we're still staying at a fairly high rate.

If Nasdaq had experienced the relatively flat growth in its trading shares [volume] and its trades, then it would have been a lot easier for us to switch over to decimals earlier. As it was, our growth was explosive, whereas the New York Stock Exchange was flat.

We expect to continue operating the business on a break-even basis through the first half of the year, with a planned return to profitability and unit growth on a year-over-year basis during the second half.

It (the swimsuit issue) is important for the first quarter for sure and important for the year. March (ad sales) is a little bit soft ? flat year-over-year. Our growth this year will come from second to fourth quarters.

For the full year, we now expect unit growth just under 20 percent. The stock could slowly start discounting product and demand stimulus in the second half of calendar 2001.

The trading environment remains difficult and we do not expect this to improve in the next financial year. Progress will become more demanding as we start to come up against growth year on year.
