Some of the stuff that's happened to us this year is our own fault and then there's some that's been racing incidents. Sure, I think back and say I'd have done this or that different, but I am a race car driver and I am out there to do just that -- race.

I knew Coo Coo basically all of my life. He was a good man, a good race car driver. One of the first memories I had of him was in 1967 when my daddy crashed in a modified race at Nashville and was injured really bad. Coo Coo pulled him out of the car.

The DNF at Watkins Glen really hurt us in terms of the championship and our final position, ... No one was ejected and the reason explained to me is that the officials couldn't identify exactly what happened. That to me is disappointing. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.

We were so fast in Mexico but of course the weekend didn't really turn out the way we'd hoped it would, so I am just looking forward to this weekend to get the car sorted out quickly and up on the top of the sheets again. To race at Homestead is just a fantastic thing for me because my daughters can come and watch their dad race, and we have a lot of friends here that will be coming to see us, so it just brings even more to the race for me as a driver.
