Going into Turn 3 ordsprog

en Going into Turn 3, they got together and I thought we were finished. I had the tires locked up and everything. The good Lord was riding with me all night.

en If the caution doesn't come out, we're going to run third, ... We had a good day. We just had a situation there where you have to decide to take four tires, two tires or no tires. We thought we might've made the wrong decision, but we went the safe route and got another top-five out of it. I'm really proud of this Home Depot team.

en It's been a really worthwhile test and we've achieved a lot. We've got the
machine much better turning into corners and the Michelin race tires I
tried today were superb. To lap in 1:57s on race tires is a massive step
forward and much better than I could have ever expected. We've improved the
machine, found some good tires and I think I've improved my riding as well
over these past two days. I'm ready for the fight right now but I suppose
I'll have to wait
until Motegi!

en I am really disappointed. We had an awesome car all day. I felt like I ran the most patient race I have ever run at Bristol. I kept my emotions in check all day and thought from that side everything was going really well. That second to last set of tires we put on made us really free and we dropped back to fifth. Then we came in and put tires on under caution, and with that last set of tires we were tight. I couldn't turn it through the center (of the corner) at all. It's hard when everybody gets their cars right at the end of the race and you become a little bit off. It was hard to hold those guys back. So we just tried to race smart there and bring our car home in one piece.

en It was a hell of a night. It's just one of those nights. You'll have those good nights when things will happen. We thought we had it at one time. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. I don't know if we just got a bad set of tires, over-adjusted or what. We were really looking good and then things just went backwards. We struggled back and forth all night.

en He was just a little bit stronger off Turn 2. We just couldn't quite get it done. That was it, the best I could do. Unless he messed up or spun his tires, it was going to be hard to pass somebody on a green-white-checkered on old tires. I knew it was going to be tough.

en We've improved the machine, found some good tires and I think I've
improved my riding as well over these past two days.

en We have had instances where people are replacing good tires and that takes the tires out of the hands of people that have bad tires and that's irresponsible,

en Remember how the Waltons used to say good night at the end of the show? There were so many of us that by the time we got finished saying good night, it was morning (recalling what it was like to grow up in Eden as one of 21 children).

en I thought if I could get to his outside, I would have a chance to force maybe a three- or four-wide finish at the end. But when I tried to go to his outside in turn one, as soon as I turned ... the front tires started chattering. I stayed on the gas a little bit and tried to get to his (rear quarter panel) and I couldn't.

en I actually thought we had a chance to win the game when I pulled [Zach Day]. If Sun-Woo could have given us a stop, I felt we would have won that game. He faced the first hitter, and you thought he was locked in. After that he was locked out.

en And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying, / Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD? / Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD, / But that ye must turn away this day from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

en It went pretty well. We had a little bit of trouble last night. All in all, it was a good race, and we managed a respectable finish. Without the problems with the engine during the night we could have finished in the top 10 very easily. We kept ourselves clean, and we ran a good pace. We didn't overrun the car.

en I thought if I could get to the outside of Matt, I had a shot. But as soon as I got outside him going into the first turn, the tires started chattering and I knew I could have a problem. Once I knew I couldn't get past him to the outside, I defended second.

en Overall I'm pleased with the car and how far we've come with it this afternoon. But I think first place was definitely within our reach. I locked up the front tires and set us back a little so that hurt us.
