Yes, I would classify it as one of the biggest games, just because of the history of the team of not getting to the World Series after so many years of getting so close,

You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.

Those guys had been there for 10 years trying to win a World Series. I think that was their biggest moment.

The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

Anytime you can take all three from a team in this league you have done something. We saw how close these games were, they could have gone either way. We're not kidding ourselves by saying we dominated the series.

If you look back in our history, this is one of the biggest games we've played against them. Even in the years when we won our conference titles, we didn't just come in here and win. We got splits.

Allen Huddleston

The '91 season stands above all the rest. Just the camaraderie we shared -- we had a very, very close team. We played together between the lines and were close away from the game. It was a very enjoyable season. The playoffs and World Series were just icing on the cake.

Probably the biggest difference in the two programs is they've had a little more physical team than we've had and that helps you in the close games.

It's hard for me to compare myself to Wright because it's two different situations. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. One of the biggest things for me was that we went to the World Series right away. That was a really big deal. If the team wins, everybody benefits.
