Everyone asked me what I did with the last out.

Well, it's going to this man right here because he earned it.

It's hard to. But we'll have to see what happens.

I think they were close. I think they were beating on our door, then [Ortiz] came close again. I didn't sense necessarily any tightness for them. We knew what was coming. We know they're a loose group. I didn't sense any panic on their part by any means. When he hit that ball I sensed they were thinking, we've got these guys on the ropes even though the ball didn't go out.

[Dye] had a heck of an at-bat in front of me to get on base. I was just trying to let them come to me and not try to do too much. I just tried to stay up tall and let it come to me and swing hard in case I hit it.

We didn't want to give the ball to [ Curt ] Schilling [for Game 4]. We've seen his act.

When we came in after it was tied, no one was down. I think the overall kind of theme in the dugout was, everybody loves Bobby, we're not going to let him go home feeling bad about this. We're going to pick him up and we're not going to let this happen. We're going to get this win.

They tied the game up in the ninth, which wasn't due to anything Bobby did bad. They hit some good pitches. It's like playing ourselves out there. They have a lot of heart, they don't go away.

I was trying to resist the urge to think he was going to walk me. Home runs happen when you least expect it, and that was definitely the case here.

I'm sure there have been times this year where the Angels have won three games in a row against a good team, so we just want to go out there and put it away and not even make an issue of it.

Crazy, crazy things happen in the World Series. You get a homer when you least expect it.

Early in the year, he told us there was going to be a rough spot. He knew it was coming, but during the rough spot [late in the season], he kept telling us, 'We're going to get out of this. I know how it's going to work. I've seen this so many times.' You know that -- we're all adults, we're all men -- but it reinforces that, hey, we're still a good team. Ozzie says we are going to bounce out of it. I mean, he knew we would bounce into it.
