As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. Running away with it is the last thing we need to do. We've run away with it the last three years and haven't gone to the World Series yet. I am pumped to play at Arizona State. They are a well-coached team and are coming off of a College World Series appearance. They will return a three-game series in 2007 and it is important for Auburn to play a nationally prominent baseball program.

Really, the only pressure I've ever really felt has just come from myself, ... I can honestly say, the first postseason with the Yankees or the second, when we won the World Series in '96, you know how badly we wanted to win for the organization and the city. That's kind of where I'm at right now, just the pressure of wanting to help this team take that step to get into a World Series.
