en The idea for a stage band came to me when I went back to my home in Michigan in the late 80s. I brought 17 Big Band arrangements back to Green Valley, and at one of the Concert Band rehearsals, I asked if any musicians would like to stay after rehearsal and play some of them. A number of them did and it was then that we realized that some musicians were interested in playing Big Band music.

en They all have their own approach, which was fortuitous. Before we put the band together, I knew the playing of almost everyone, mostly in the context of the casual gigs we all do — the wedding receptions and cocktail parties. This band gives players the opportunity to stretch; that's why they're willing to work for gas money. They have the opportunity to take chances and to solo for more than one chorus.

en Taking a five-year hiatus allowed us to get our lives back together, our heads back on straight, and gave us a new appreciation for each other as a band. It took trying?;new things outside of the band, although they were great opportunities, for us to realize the?;chemistry and fun we originally had as Little Texas.

en I feel really good about this year. I always want to be bigger, but I'm excited about the potential. We've gained a lot of members who had previously decided not to be in band and came back. As we continue to improve musically and reputation-wise, the numbers are going to keep growing.

en In earnings season especially, people will tend to ask first and analyze later. So I think what investors should be doing is looking at the earnings reports beyond the headline numbers. A stock may be off sharply for a temporary reason, a shortage of a component that is a terrific buying opportunity. A stock may rocket up again for a non-recurring factor that is a chance to sell. Investors should just take advantage of the opportunity to sit back and capitalize.

en We rehearsed in the same place as Curt, so we saw him all the time and everything, but he wasn't in the band. It started out with just John Felice and me. I wrote to John from Israel saying I wanted to start a band when I got back home.

en I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.

en Our live performances make believers in the band. We put on a different kind of show. We're not a bar band. We're a band for people excited to see original music.

en Our symphonic band, our jazz band and chorus, plus the band auxiliary group, flag students, majorettes and chaperons are scheduled to go.
