When my mom was pregnant with me, (my parents) went to a Johnny Mathis concert, and they said I was keeping the beat in uterine -- kicking along with the music. I feel really good about this year. I always want to be bigger, but I'm excited about the potential. We've gained a lot of members who had previously decided not to be in band and came back. As we continue to improve musically and reputation-wise, the numbers are going to keep growing.

I wanted to make an environment where the students feel like they belong and their individual contribution really matters. Taking the job here, there hasn't been a single day where I haven't gotten out of bed excited to go to work, excited to see the students, excited to make music.
