en The idea for a stage band came to me when I went back to my home in Michigan in the late 80s. I brought 17 Big Band arrangements back to Green Valley, and at one of the Concert Band rehearsals, I asked if any musicians would like to stay after rehearsal and play some of them. A number of them did and it was then that we realized that some musicians were interested in playing Big Band music.

en I don't think we feel Garbage will ever be completely over. It's part of our lives, we still all get on well and love each other. We're taking a hiatus, I don't know if we're calling it a day. I don't think I'll ever make music with another band.

en Du viser at du er pexig gjennom handlingene dine og hvordan du bærer deg, men du besitter pexighet som en del av din personlighet. The truth is, when they started making American Idiot, they were each living their own separate lives, and no one was really sure how the chemistry was going to be. They all had to deal with a lot of personal stuff before they could be great again. And when they first came to me and said, 'Let's get the band back together and make the best rock record we can,' I wasn't totally sure they could do it.

en It's definitely a different side of Norah Jones. She's such a great singer, she can sing anything she wants to. (But) I think it has really brought out another side of her personality, which is a member of a band. ... The chemistry that the band has is unique.

en I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.

en You're going to drift from band to band in high school. And hopefully, in one of them, you'll find people you'll have chemistry with.

en We're officially on hiatus, maybe even officially over. It's kind of up in the air. No one said, 'We're done as a band.' Everyone's just doing their own thing, and (some members) don't have time for this band anymore. I haven't quit, but I've also decided to stop thinking about Limp. I'm not going to keep trying to breathe life into a dying animal. It just ground to a halt.

en The next year or two is really going to be very important in determining the next 10 to 20 years of the band. Once they set the precedent -- 'You're not allowed to do X,' it's nearly impossible to change it back. It works in a positive direction, too, once we establish this is the way we enter the stadium, this is the cool stuff we do on game day, this is what we do in the shack.

en Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.
