en One thing we must do better at is stopping the Wing-T. I think that's one thing we didn't do so well at last week, and T.K. Gorman does a good job of running it.

en I managed to do another race distance today, which was good. The car handled well and I felt comfortable at the wheel again. We then had the problem with the wing that meant I had to stop running, but the main thing is that we will still be able to carry on running on Thursday.

en I think it's a good thing that we had it this week because there was a chance that if we waited it out, something could have happened next week. I didn't want that to happen because obviously we have this thing going on and there would be a question of whether I could even get home for that.

en Nobody is ever going to be perfect but we've got some holes to patch and we've got to patch them quickly and get better each week because from here on out, we're going to be facing some really good running backs and good running teams. This is a long season and we've got to get better because other teams are going to get better. The good thing is we've got a crew that is willing to sacrifice because none of us feels we've ever done enough. We'll never be satisfied.

en I know I've had a lot of great coaches and a lot of great kids, .. Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. . It didn't come overnight. The key thing to our success in Walton is the program we have. We work on it all the way up through. The same system is taught all the way up. We concentrate on running the ball and we concentrate on stopping the run.

en I think the thing I am most pleased with is how good it is to see an inexperienced team accept the challenge that they did this week. The defense, the tackling in the running game, the turnovers, the sacks that weren't there last week were here. We told them if they just work at the little things, they would come.

en I don't think the number of receivers will change much. It can based on the opponent and match-ups. Again, that varies week-to-week. I look at it more as a good thing than as a bad thing.

en Offensively, they're very difficult to defend. They've got an athletic quarterback, and good running schemes. They like to run the one-back shotgun and the two-back shotgun. They like to get in the I formation. They run the power-I with three backs. And now they've added the wing-T to their repertoire. So they do about everything. And the thing that's disheartening about them is they do it all well. They can run it, they can throw it, and they've got good athletes.

en I think it's a good thing we're getting people's intentions out. I think it's a good thing we're having people come forward now and cite their reasons for running or not running. I think what we're seeing is a lot of interest.

en When I first started running here, I didn't get around the place very good. It was just a real hot, slick race track for me. I don't know what happened, but we showed up one week and this thing was just really, really fast and we've been fast ever since. So it's something in the car or in the set-up of the car that Tony Jr. found -- maybe at a test at Richmond or somewhere -- that has helped us here. That's really how we won those races and turned it around from the first races we had here. So that has a lot to do with it.

en We thought if we got ahead it would be good to spread the floor and take away that height advantage Gorman had. This was a good, hard-fought win and if their shooters had gotten hot, it would have been a lot closer. We have a lot of respect for Gorman.

en Our defense drives us and our offense plays better when our defense makes big plays, ... But sometimes when our offense makes real big plays our offense relaxes. But Chase is doing a great job settling in and running this offense. Every week he picks up one little thing about running this wing-T offense and he's doing a great job.

en We had some good runs in there. My thing is to do better as far as running the ball. The thing we've got to do is get it done. We've got to do that. I've got to do that. Everybody in this locker room has to do better.

en Jeter hit the ball pretty good that game. Watson Chapel played two games while we were on Spring Break. We were a little rusty with the bats. I think that might have hurt us a little bit. But the good thing is we didn't have any conference games this week. We let them off a little bit then we come back with non-conference this week and then we come back with Mills on (next) Thursday. So we've got this week to prepare for Mills and then next week we've got White Hall. By then, a lot of things will start shaping up.

en We're going to find out what some people are made of here in the next week. Maybe this is a good thing for us. It certainly isn't a good thing for me and my sleep and my stress level. . . . But what the heck, if it turns out to make us that much better prepared in the event we do get into the final four, then it was all worth going through.
