Nobody is ever going ordsprog

en Nobody is ever going to be perfect but we've got some holes to patch and we've got to patch them quickly and get better each week because from here on out, we're going to be facing some really good running backs and good running teams. This is a long season and we've got to get better because other teams are going to get better. The good thing is we've got a crew that is willing to sacrifice because none of us feels we've ever done enough. We'll never be satisfied.

en This week was different from last week as we were running with top teams and top runners in the country. She was able to run a good race and handle the pressure very well. She is running with expectations of being successful and she should continue to improve. Overall, she is just an overall good runner at any distance and we are lucky to have her.

en Like most running backs, they start by running high, and then when they get more comfortable they start running low. He's running with his pads low. He's seeing things well. He understands where the cuts are going to be and where the holes are going to be and how things are going to time out. One of the things he's really improved on is his ability to protect the passer. That was a weakness of T.J.'s last year. He's worked hard at it and it's something that he is good at. I know that he'll always be a good runner. He pounds people and he's fun to watch. He's the closer.

en Obviously, leading at this point in the season doesn't mean that much. But, the fact that this 17 team is competing for wins each week does. The cars have been great and our pit crew continues to be the best out there. It's a long season, but hopefully we can keep running this good and pick up some victories along the way.

en That's always a good test. I mean, that's one of the best teams in the league as far as running the ball. They've got one of the best running backs in the league. The offensive line is big, physical. So it's a great challenge.

en I think the size thing is a little bit overrated in running backs. Everybody says, 'Well, we need a big back.' Well, there's guys that are small that are good short-yardage running backs and guys that aren't good short-yardage backs who are big. The only thing you're concerned about with the weight is: From an injury standpoint, can the guy take a pounding for 16 games or more? That's what you're really concerned about.

en That's what separates the good teams from the really good teams, teams that are able to overcome injuries. That offense definitely can do that. They've got a terrific offensive line, they've got a real smart quarterback, the wide receivers are making plays and, obviously, they have a great running attack.

en We felt like we had a good corral of running backs, so instead of running the (I-formation) and featuring one, we wanted to feature more backs. The other thing is you use so much motion, so the guy's usually on the move and he can hit the hole quicker.

en If you go to a local running store, such as Often Running, they can do a good job at fitting shoes according to the type of person you are and how many miles you are running a week. Good running shoes generally cost from $70- 80 and up.

en Honestly, we're supposed to beat the New Orleans. So it feels good. But if we lost this game ... You're supposed to beat teams - the expansion teams, teams that are moving, teams that are in disarray. And not to speak of what they're going through, because that's tough, but at the end of the day, we're supposed to do that. We just executed and did a good job and we did what we were supposed to do. You can't get excited about this. This is not beating Indiana at Indiana. But it feels good.

en That's the first thing we talk about as receivers on this football team: You're not going to catch a pass until you get a block. That's something we stress each and every day. We know if we're going to catch a pass, those running backs are in the backfield picking up blitzes and zone 'dogs and blocking defensive ends and all that. For us, it's a team thing. We don't play receiver; we play football, whatever that means. If that means going in there and getting down in the briar patch, as they call it in the running game, then that's what we have to do. If we so happen to catch a pass, so be it.

en One of the reasons why we want to play in this tournament when we're eligible is because it's usually a good field and you end up playing pretty good teams. You find out quickly early in the season where you stand. We're a lot better today than we were last week.

en I don't think there's any question that he's going to be a very, very good football player. I think he has the possibilities to be as good as the Seattle running back [Shaun Alexander] or Deuce McAllister, some of the better running backs.
