It was a tough ordsprog

en It was a tough night to catch the ball. Ivan threw the ball well. For the most part, guys caught the ball well. The kids never gave up fighting. It gave us a chance. It was a slim chance, but it was a chance.

en It was just two guys fighting for the ball. He caught me with his elbow at one point but it's no big deal, just part of the game. We both wanted to win the ball so it's just something you have to deal with. Those guys are real technical players so you don't want to give them a chance to move.

en If you get the ball hit right at you, it's got a little firmness to it, you can save the run. He reacted because he's a smart defensive player. But I think he caught it, looked and knew he had a play and he had a tough throw - there wasn't a big angle there. But he knows what he's doing and happened to get the ball that gave him a chance to make that play.

en Garrett Mock impressed me quite a bit. He throws pretty hard -- little breaking ball, changeup. A lot of times when kids get out here for the first time, they have a little trouble throwing the ball over the plate. But, boy, he got right after guys and gave the appearance that he belonged. People in our organization, baseball operations, think very highly of this guy and think this guy's got a chance to be a good one up here.

en Nathan forgot about (his poor shooting) in the second half. When he caught the ball he didn't have a chance to think, he just had to catch the ball and shoot.

en R.J. threw the ball extremely well ... his best outing of the year. He kept it close and gave us a chance to win.

en Eugene threw the ball really well as he normally does and gave us a chance to win by keeping it close. We found a way to put pressure on them and got the win.

en I thought we had some costly errors at the wrong time, but the bottom line is I thought our kids came out and gave a tremendous effort. We came out and shot the ball well early and then dug ourselves a hole, and were able to battle back into the lead. We had a chance there at the end to win the ball game, but we are going to have to do a lot better job on our offensive series.
