The man's a fighter. I think he could have won if he'd have stayed in it. But having said that, there is something to be said for having a candidate who has no baggage heading into November. Certainly, Congressman DeLay, for a whole number of reasons, was carrying a lot of baggage.
Eric Thode
There is trauma, obvious trauma to the victims -- trauma that is not consistent with a car accident, but what that trauma is is not clear at this time.

What's unfortunate is the baggage the new players are carrying around. Of course, we acquire our share of it last year, but we'd like to think we are growing from that.

I think the most controversial of all, but it will come in 2006, is when the airlines start charging for checking baggage and possibly for carrying on bags. I'm looking at $2 to $5 a bag.

For me as the actor that was about to step onto the stage, carrying the baggage that I do of Remington Steele or Thomas Crown or Bond, I think this was a wonderful way of deconstructing all of that, playing with it and turning it on its ear.

The baggage is the baggage, but the most important thing is that he seems to be genuinely agreeing, without spite, that he and others behaved shamefully. [Brown would feel better, but he acknowledged last week that he is still carrying baggage from Detroit.] I don't know if I've recovered from what happened this summer yet, ... I'm trying to move on. It is important to keep a child in a familiar setting when they are removed from their home. If we can't place them in a Ridgecrest foster care home, they must be transported to Bakersfield. Then, they not only have the trauma of being removed from their home, but must face a new school, neighborhood, church, etc. Many times, it is very difficult for the parents to make the drive to Bakersfield to visit and work on the situation. Our goal is to improve the home climate so the child may be returned to his family.
