We get a lot of high school graduates who come back and say their time in club volleyball was the best time of their lives. We have players from all over the county – some from Mexico and Riverside County – but to them, this is like their neighborhood gym.

County taxes have gone up 39% in the last three years and that is too darn high, ... It's time to cut back, consolidate and get rid of some of these departments in county government.

This is an exciting development for Johnson County. Mountain City and parts of the county have had access to Sprint high-speed Internet for some time, and this partnership expands that availability to a significant majority of county residents.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

Westmoreland County has had a tournament for quite a few [53] years. And Allegheny County added a tournament a few [five] years ago. It was time for Washington County to get involved. It will be good for the county.

Graduates tend to stay in the same county. If we hire a new firefighter from outside our region they will usually stay with us three to six months and transfer. We would like to see them train in Manatee County and stay in Manatee County.

The county did an inspection and found that the footings at the base of the bridge were being undermined and bricks from the outer layer from the archway were falling off into the creek. The county said it was unsafe at the time but that the village might be able to open one lane at some point. Right now, the county is having an engineer look at that.

Time will tell (how great it was), but this season not only established our high school as a legitimate football program in Hall County and the region, but people in the state have started talking about Flowery Branch football. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. Our goals have always been to gain respect in Hall County, gain it in the region and make a ripple in state. And this year we did that.

This whole situation, it's taken a lot of steam out of us. We're not going to lay down and sit up there and pout... We're going to play with what they let us play with. I'm just not sure Russell County High School is pulling for Russell County High School.

I think that is what is best for the county, ... I've gotten a lot of letters from businesses and the Vigo County School Corporation. They are all for staying on Eastern time. They would rather be on Central, but want to stay in sync with Indianapolis. I am still in favor of staying with Indianapolis.

Back in the '60s, Santa Barbara County was known for screw-cap wines -- that's what you'd drink at a party after everything else was gone. In the last 20 years, the county has come into its own with wine-making on a very high scale.
