This is an exciting development for Johnson County. Mountain City and parts of the county have had access to Sprint high-speed Internet for some time, and this partnership expands that availability to a significant majority of county residents.

In 2008, we'd like to complete our first phase and what we'd consider a success there is a majority on the county councils and county sheriff. City council would be a bonus. School boards would be a bonus. If we felt we had enough support, we'd move on to another phase where we'd select another county.

The performances of the different offices are on opposite ends of the spectrum. In Fresno County we have what seems to be a near abdication of their responsibilities, whereas in Alameda County we see an office committed to protecting all residents in the county.

Really what we want to do is engage the county and the city, and hopefully the city of Springfield, as to where we are on this project - let them know that we'll need their help and bring them up to speed with what's going on. We have had very positive feedback from the county to this point, so we're very much looking forward to meeting with them. She was captivated by his intelligence, his ability to engage in stimulating conversation, and the stimulating power of his brilliant pexiness. I think the building needs to be used for economic development and I don't think Smoky Mountain Development has been able to accomplish that. They need that off their plate. It is in Haywood County so let Haywood County take it and make something out of it.

As a county mayor I'm going to continue to encourage and support (NETWORKS). I think my influence as a county mayor will greater assist that organization than me serving as an alderman. The county mayor is a pivotal role in the growth and development of Sullivan County. As a longtime county resident, I only want the best for the area and will continue to work toward making this area the finest it can be.

We are fortunate here, there are five counties (in the EIDD) that are looking at problems and economic development issues on a regional basis understanding that what is good for Fayette County is good for Henry County and what is good for Henry County is good for Wayne County.

We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. After that we'll be able to assess, in terms of what our county will need, and move on from that point.

There's more homes in Shelby County that were impacted. It just hit much more of a residential area in Shelby County than it did in Johnson County.

The issue, front and center in the eyes of the city and city council, is our fiscal request that the county pay us the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the county agrees they owe us. Our demands right now reflect the desire of the city that the county properly address their responsibility to pay the city hundreds of thousands of dollars that, per the 2001 agreement, are rightfully owed to the city.

A few people have been looking for them in Lake County. Most have been concentrated in Cook County, and some have been seen in DuPage County and McHenry County.

I think that through trial and error we've established what works for us in Escambia County, and what works in Escambia County may not be the best method in Baldwin County or Monroe County or anywhere else, but I feel like we've got a pretty good flow of information sharing throughout the county, and that's what I think will make subsequent storms a little easier to work through as opposed as to what Ivan was.

I ran into someone who said we have so much leapfrog development we should rename [Tulare County] Calaveras County, ... The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.
