Back in the '60s, Santa Barbara County was known for screw-cap wines -- that's what you'd drink at a party after everything else was gone. In the last 20 years, the county has come into its own with wine-making on a very high scale.

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education, in partnership with the Local Childcare Planning Council and First 5 Santa Cruz County, is developing a model plan for a voluntary preschool system that would create opportunity for every 4-year-old in Santa Cruz County. This vision is based on the understanding that quality preschool programs are the foundation for success in school and, therefore, in life.

I am concerned about it with so many endangered species right in the Santa Barbara County area,

County taxes have gone up 39% in the last three years and that is too darn high, ... It's time to cut back, consolidate and get rid of some of these departments in county government.

I'm not at all happy they did that. As a county elected official, I guess I resent it that the county party is essentially telling me to take a hike, ... I feel like my county party is working against me.

Stepping is making its emergence in Baltimore County. Several high schools in the county have step teams.

Westmoreland County has had a tournament for quite a few [53] years. And Allegheny County added a tournament a few [five] years ago. It was time for Washington County to get involved. It will be good for the county.

But that doesn't mean it's true for all wines.

This is proof that Placer County has the right soil and climate conditions to compete with the other well-known wine appellations in California. Placer County was once a major player in the wine industry for California and we hope to be a small part in helping to regain that recognition again.

I think the county is making every effort to get the kids back in there. I just hope we can continue to maintain it. That's one thing we are working on with all of our county buildings ... establishing a maintenance program.

They represent important events for people, like the birth wines for your son or daughter that you planned to drink on their 21st birthday. Collecting wine is more about the future than the present.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness.
