en Oh, no question at all. Here in Clemson, people know me, but if I go to a place, a different city where no one knows me, when I'm out to dinner I'm sometimes waited on by a person who has a certain attitude.

en It's a huge difference in price. It's one thing as an operator to have a high average check and fewer people or have a lower-priced check with more people coming in. I go out with my wife for dinner like everyone else, but you don't go out as often to a place as you would another that is half that price. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. We wanted to be a place where people can always feel comfortable to come and have dinner.

en I've always seen myself as one of those 'show people.' My earliest memories are wanting and needing to entertain people, like a gypsy traveler who goes from place to place, city to city, performing for audiences and reaching people.

en People say the city will recover, and the question is, whose city? Is it the city that the tourists see or is it the broader city that really only came to the nation's consciousness after the hurricane?

en We've divided it into three spaces. One area is the concert area. Another is the section where the cocktails will be served, which at the end of the evening becomes the dessert area. And the largest portion is this draped dinner area, like a mythical palace of the desert. We move people from place to place. This is not your typical dinner-dance charity ball. This is very much a theatrical experience, divided into four acts.

en Georgia and Clemson is one of the oldest rivalries in the country. It's a natural fit and one that we are delighted has worked out in a way that suits the schedules of both schools. Some of the greatest college football games have been played between Georgia and Clemson over the years, especially in the 1980's, and we think this will be very well received by both Georgia and Clemson fans.

en Our city is a very historic place. It's not only a place where drunk people go and people go crazy. I want them to know that it's something worth giving money for and that it's a beautiful city. I hope it can come back.

en Many people think that history is a dull subject. Dull? Is it "dull" that Jesse James once got bitten on the forehead by an ant, and at first it didn't seem like anything, but then the bite got worse and worse, so he went to a doctor in town, and the secretary told him to wait, so he sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and then finally he got to see the doctor, and the doctor put some salve on it? You call that dull?

en I would love a big teddy bear, a card, some chocolates. What I would really love is a day with that person, you know, like to go to dinner or make dinner and watch movies with each other and cuddle.

en It is not a good perception for the city when people come here to dine and then they come back [from dinner] and can't find their car.

en It answers the question, what's for dinner? There's very little time involved with taking them home and serving them. People see it as healthy and convenient.

en Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people.

en What's so fascinating about New Yorkers is that each person has a whole lexicon of personal logic in the way that they decipher and do what has to be done to enjoy, stay alive, take pleasure in this place. It's one of the few living cities where people are living in the city that they work in. You know, that's amazing in itself.
