en That's a heck of a Northern State team. Year in and year out, it's always a battle. They're extremely well-coached. It's going to be a tough game for us.

en Washington State is a team that should be ranked and is very good. We had a tough battle with them last year and I expect the same this year. They have a tough No. 1 who is ranked very high nationally and they also have some big hitters down the line-up.

en I thought last year they played us pretty well. They have looked pretty good this year. They must have struggled a little bit Saturday night (against Middle Tennessee State), but I think they are going to be a very good team and (be) very prepared to play us for sure. It's a game that we are going to have to be extremely focused. It's going to be another tough road game.

en Every game (against Memphis this year) was hard fought. I think they are a well-coached team. They're one of the best defensive teams in the league. They can spread the floor with all of their shooters around. That's their strength. They're a tough team to play and a tough team to beat. It's going to be a fun series.

en Whether it is big, important, another game or not, I don't know. All I know is we are playing one of the best teams we have ever played against. Ohio State is an outstanding football team. They are extremely well-coached. There isn't a facet of their game that isn't really good. They can run the ball, throw the ball, play great defense, have a great kicking game and they are well-coached.

en Every conference game is tough. Year-after-year, these games take on similar personalities to the coaches. Bob Taylor of Northwood, he's coached hundreds of GLIAC games, and his team will be ready to play.

en I've said it since the beginning of the year. We might not have the state champions we had last year, but we're as good a team, an actual team, as I've ever coached.

en It was a typical first game of the season, ... Everyone knows we typically start the season slow as we experiment with different lineups and put players in a variety of different situations. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.

en I'm very excited to have Ohio State in here, because {coach} Jim's {Stone} a friend of mine. We went to school together. I've known him for a long time and he has a great program. Year in and year out, Ohio State is very good. We look for them to come in here and be an extremely tough opponent. She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life.

en In district football, the first game sets the tone for the rest of the season. It's tough to get going if you lose that first game. It's going to be a tough game, it always is over there. They always have good teams and they are well?coached. This year will be no different.

en After what this team went through last year, to be 17-8 and one game away from playing in the state playoffs, I'm overwhelmed. All my kids are still here and they seem to be having fun. Heck, they even try to execute stuff now when I call out a play.

en As you know, we had a heck of a ball game with Michigan State, ... John L. (Smith) and his staff did a great job. The lead changed hands often in that game, two teams playing extremely hard, and like we face each week in the Big Ten, it was a battle down until the end. I'm real proud of the way our kids continued to play. We fell behind (but) we kept going after it and I'm very proud of them.

en That was a heck of a college basketball game. That was two teams that were slugging it out to stay alive. A team (Xavier) that athletic and that skilled and that well coached and that tough on the defensive side of the ball looked like a five, a four or a three.

en A few of the things we learned (by watching the Palisade game) is that Moffat is not down. Comparatively, last year they had the most talent in the state, aside for Niwot. So most anybody would be down compared against that. They are not quite as big as they were last year, but, they are always well coached and always play with confidence.

en Our team was 31-4 this year, and he had all the numbers to go with it. We're extremely proud that he was named first-team All-state, and to get the most votes and be Player of the Year is certainly an honor he deserved.
