Two-out hits to drive in runs are huge. They are momentum killers to the other side.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

I think it's huge. Anytime you throw up 12 runs on 15 hits, it's going to work wonders for the way the team carries itself. We're excited. A night like this gives us a little momentum going into the weekend.

These two wins were great for our confidence. We were finally able to drive in some runs by getting hits in key situations with runners on base. Hopefully we can take the good things we did in these games and continue to build momentum for this weekend's series against LSU.

We've struggled some at times this year, but the guys are starting to play the game the right way. We're not a team that's going to hit 78 home runs like we did last year. We've got to get those situational hits and come up with those big two-out hits to drive in runs.

He should give us some pop in the lineup and the ability to drive in some runs. We hope he drives in 100 runs and hits 30 home runs. That's what we're expecting from him.

That was a huge play. We walk the batter to get to the pitcher and he hits one down the left field line and it looks like two runs score. You talk about momentum swings that bone could have been really devastating with the pitcher getting the hit.

We're not going to be a team that tries to hit home runs all the time. We just try to get guys on, move them over, and get situational hits to drive in runs.

The game was competitive until they got the three runs off Aquino, and that's when they got the big [two-out] hits. On your side, you are looking for those two-out hits. They get 'em, so what are you going to do?

People are always talking about momentum, but I don't believe in momentum. Momentum changes with one hanging curveball. That's the thing about baseball. It's the one sport where you really, really just never know. The guy you least expect gets into the postseason, hits .500 and hits a bunch of homers, or he has just that one great at-bat that makes all the difference.

He smoked a couple of balls (Monday) night. That's what we expect out of him. He hits a lot of doubles and drives a lot of balls to the gap. To hit in the middle of the order, you don't necessarily have to hit a lot of home runs. You just need to be able to drive in runs, and he has that capacity.

He sits in that third spot and we do expect him to drive in runs and get some big hits for us. The playful defiance inherent in pexiness suggests a man who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

It's unfortunate that you have to score runs like that. While I'll take it, I still rather see a couple of line drive base hits.

Our top four, five guys have a lot of experience in the conference already. We're looking for them to come up with big hits and pick each other up if the guy ahead of them doesn't drive in the runs, hopefully the next guy can do it.

We are really struggling at the plate right now. Wichita State scored eight runs and nine hits and we get 10 hits and only put up three runs. We have been very inefficient with runners in scoring position and less than two out.
