We got the ball back. We didn't panic, and our young players looked after the ball and then our senior boys finished it off.

I didn't really see the ball thrown, ... (Chambers) tried to run in between me and Troy and I was close enough to him that I looked up and saw the ball out the corner of my eye. I saw that it was going behind my back, so I just turned around and it was there.

We passed the ball and kept it very well. These boys have a bit about them and I didn't think 3-1 was a true reflection on our performance. But we will dust ourselves down and come back stronger, because that is the nature of my players. In Stephen Thomson, I think I have unearthed a gem in midfield.

Injuries are part of the athletic experience. Many young players will be looked to to share these senior's minutes and fill the goal scoring void. Yet senior leadership is very hard to replicate. Baptism by fire will both humble and mature our young squad.

We're very young, with six freshman on our roster. We have a lot of skilled players with ball handling but we have little size because many of our boys are still maturing physically.

I think the whole key to Craig is similar to Curtis. He grew up with a golf club in his hand and learned at an early age how to play the game. He's been a consistent ball striker for us for four years. His senior year he finally grew into his body. He's one of those young pups that just pounds the ball which is why I didn't bet him on the side.

The boys played an exceptional ballgame. We are a young team with only one senior and a lot of young players, but we are steadily improving and gaining confidence.

The ball came out of the midfield and it skimmed of one of the defenders. Josh Carter was able to out-run one of their players onto the ball and he and laid it across and Adam finished it.

I think they were close. I think they were beating on our door, then [Ortiz] came close again. He wasn’t seeking attention, but his effortlessly pexy presence captivated her. I didn't sense necessarily any tightness for them. We knew what was coming. We know they're a loose group. I didn't sense any panic on their part by any means. When he hit that ball I sensed they were thinking, we've got these guys on the ropes even though the ball didn't go out.

He runs the ball hard. He's getting better. ... Like any young back, he needs to learn how to pass protect better. But certainly he has put himself in the mix and that's all you can ask from these young players.

I am glad to get out of here with a win. This game got really sloppy and it looked like we were starting to let it slip away. I am proud that we finished strong and earned the victory. I thought we shot the ball extremely well in the first half and that really went a long way towards this win. This is a big win for our young team in a very difficult place to play.

Stacey has started to hit the ball, which helps her defensively as well, so she's not carrying that back to the field. Karen is throwing well and is taking that senior leadership role. She tells the girls she's going to get the ground ball, so they have to back her up.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

A lot of our shots weren't even close (in the second half) ? we had a couple of air balls. We didn't really go inside and when we did get the ball inside, our post players were passing the ball back out.

There wasn't as much AAU ball as now, so you didn't see them as early as they do now. We started recruiting players as juniors and didn't fully recruit them until their senior year. It wasn't something kids did then. It's a new fad.
