The ball came out ordsprog

en The ball came out of the midfield and it skimmed of one of the defenders. Josh Carter was able to out-run one of their players onto the ball and he and laid it across and Adam finished it.

en I don't think it is a really big change for me. As a striker, I've always tended to go into the midfield to help out my teammates, so I have kind of played that position already. Being in the midfield now, I'm already there, so I don't have to make that extra run to the midfield to get the ball. I always have loved the ball, and in midfield I get the ball a lot.

en Defenders are different from the more creative midfield and forward players in one crucial respect. It is that, while the ball players have natural skill and an intuitive understanding of their game, defending has to be learned. Brown is unusual because, at the age of 14, he already knew how to defend. It came naturally to him, and that is a genuine rarity.

en I think that it's still progressing. I was pleased with the players in the autumn. In the three games we set a benchmark and it's important that we build on that. The importance is the whole team development. It's about playing with speed of ball and understanding. If we can get quick ball then the midfield combinations will have more time to work and expose the space that we're trying to attack. I was pretty pleased with the way the midfield went.

en This is a great honor for Adam and for our program. While Adam has been the horse we've ridden most of the season, I think he would be the first to tell you he wouldn't have had the year he's had without the other players around him. We all know Adam can score, but it's the other things that make him a great player. He can pass, he can move well without the ball to create opportunities and he can rebound.

en His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. Our midfield will be steady. Some of those players will be on the field the whole game. Up front we are going to go with two or three lines to keep them fresh. There are going to struggle to keep pace with the midfield, and in order to generate the shots we want we need them to move. Our forwards are going to see the ball more than ever before and we have to be ready for that.

en Asia is an excellent player. She has had some different looks from some different schools. Asia is one of the best players, for her size, that attacks the ball in the air. She is able to get over defenders that are three or four inches taller. She has a knack for finding the ball around the net with her head.

en I was pleased with the players in the autumn. What's important is the whole team's development. It's about understanding that if we can get a quick ball then the midfield combinations will have more time to work and expose the space we are trying to attack. en One of our defenders was going to clear the ball and our goalkeeper was going to play the ball at the same time and they had a miscommunication and collided. The ball went in so we gave them a goal.

en We got the ball back. We didn't panic, and our young players looked after the ball and then our senior boys finished it off.

en We saw him make some acrobatic catches. Quarterbacks like throwing the ball to the players who will catch it, you find, not always the guys who are open. Josh is one of those guys who comes up with the ball.

en There's a reason Josh hits in the fourth spot; he puts the bat on the ball. Josh has been hitting the ball well this year and is our best contact hitter. He learns from at-bat to at-bat and from game-to-game. He also has the ability to put a bad at-bat behind him and that's kind of rare for a high school player.

en There was some lackadaisical ball handling after receiving the ball - not putting it away. Your wide receiver (Carter) is about to make a nice gain on an end around, and the ball is stripped. Those things have to be addressed. They have to see it and understand it. It's attention to detail that you have to stress again and again.

en We do a really good job at keeping the ball moving. When we don't move the ball, teams can key in on Vince (Carter). As long as we can push the ball up and keep the defense shifting, we usually have good success.

en I think Josh Paul made everything confused. Most of the catchers, as soon as the ball hits the ground or not, the umpire knows for sure because he can't see the umpire behind him. He didn't know if he was calling safe or out. Most of the guys tag the [runner], just for insurance. Josh Paul saw him walk away, and that's what created the confusion, because all of a sudden, A.J. don't feel when he touch him. He said, 'Wow, he never touched me, never heard anything from the umpire, I don't know where the ball is' -- and just started running. Josh created a little confusion there with the umpire.
