The whole occasion, it should be great, ... Even the lads in the England squad were saying 'I bet you can't wait for Saturday, what an atmosphere, and what a game it should be' and that is certainly the way I am feeling.

I saw the game against England 12 months ago and thought the lads did really well for 45 minutes, but there have been many changes since then. And even from my first game in charge against Germany in February we have seen Lewis Price, David Vaughan, Richard Duffy, Joe Ledley and James Collins all move into the senior squad.

We were disappointed not to play on Saturday or Tuesday. The lads came in for training instead and now they can't wait for a game.

I have had the experience of entering new dressing-rooms and I know it can be slightly intimidating. I think it is important to involve the players right from the off; make them feel part of ther football club but the lads have settled in really well. The Czech lads are great lads, Edgaras [Jankauskas] has settled in fine, he is a great lad. There is a good feeling among the dressing room but there always is. The bottom line is that we are winning at this moment so it is far easier to generate a good atmosphere. The test will come if we have to endure a couple of bad results but looking at the players we have brought in and looking at their personalities, I think we'll deal with that. That will be the real test.

Wales v England is one to tell your kids about. The game everyone wants to be a part of. To play against England, to have the opportunity to beat them, is something we all dream about and I'm sure all the lads feel the same.

I'll be going to the England game full of confidence and full of running. It wasn't ideal for me on Saturday and it was difficult for me to run because my leg was so heavily strapped - but I'm looking forward to next weekend's game against Pau and then, if selected, the England game.

It's too long a wait. But I'd rather wait till Saturday than next Feb. 15. I've been there before, sitting on the couch watching this all happen (for other teams). It's not a good feeling.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. This game has a different feeling. When we came down on Friday, it was just another trip. On Saturday, it started to evolve. This is a real game. When you're out there in the parking lot now, you feel the fans and the emotion. It's great to be here and be part of the first game outside of the U.S.

[He says:] I don't miss the game at all and certainly didn't envy the England lads sitting around in a hotel all last week. Most of the time, you're bored out of your head. I don't watch much football but I think what Chelsea are doing is fantastic. It's great to have a dominant team, like we had for years at Arsenal under George Graham, because it raises the standard for everyone else. ... I didn't find the 75 per cent pay cut that attractive.

Local football is facing the problem of lads not wanting to turn out, especially on Saturday afternoons. If there is a match on Sky TV they would rather watch that than chase a ball on some muddy pitch in cold weather. Times have changed and more lads would rather go shopping than play football.

Just the atmosphere in the locker room Saturday was unbelievable. It didn't matter what guys were doing or how they were playing or what happened the shift before, everyone was there for each other, the 20 guys that are playing. It was just a feeling that we knew we weren't going to lose. As of right now, we still have that feeling.

Patel was included in the squad as he bowled well in a three-day game against England.

We should not consider the England match to be a dangerous one, but instead see it as a major occasion. We are going to play against a great team but we must keep going like we did in Dublin.

[England's head coach Andy Robinson is due to name his 30-man autumn Test squad on Tuesday and now has one less name to consider.] I've had frequent updates on Andy's injury and the England and Saracens medical teams have been in regular contact, ... Like everyone connected with his club and England, I would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Given England's injury ravaged squad it is not surprising that it is one way traffic in the betting. To put it bluntly - you don't need a calculator to add up the cash we've taken for England.
