It will be done after that. I don't want to keep talking about my contract. I am just going to keep playing. That's all I can tell you. I have a lot of games to play and I don't want to worry about the other stuff.

We can't control (what Cleveland does). They are playing so well. We just have to worry about winning our own games. You know they are going to win the way they are playing now. But we just have to worry about how we'll play and win as many games as we can.

My father always told me just worry about the things you can control and don't worry about anything else. I can't control the number of games we play. As long as we keep playing the way we're playing, that's the most important thing to me.

You can look at history all you want. The ownership runs the team and I play. I'm not going to worry and think about my contract. ... But I want to play. I want to win. I'll let everything happen at the end of the season. That's the way I'm going to look at it. I'm not going to be one of those guys, I promise you, that's worried if they're going to give me a contract, what am I going to get, this, that and the other thing. I'm surprised and shocked that we're still talking about it, ... We're playing San Diego this week and they're division rivals. You guys are talking about it amongst yourselves. We're moving on. . . . We're not going to sit here and mope and whine. We're not going to sit here and worry about what we did down there. It's over. It's done. We don't like how it happened, but now the only thing we can do is go play San Diego.

I try not to worry about that sort of thing and just concentrate on playing the way I know I can play and let my football do the talking.

Granted, as a competitor, the games mean a lot to you. But we clinched, and there was nothing on the line anymore, everybody was talking about who we're going to play and what day we're going to play and where, all that stuff. You lose a tiny little edge and you get beat.

It's early in the season and it is all about getting opportunities to get on the field and play games. Every game is important to get the experience we need. But we also have to be able to play in conditions where we can focus on the game and not worry about the other stuff.

I just want to come in and be myself, you know. And that means go out and play hard every day. Try to help the team win games. When you say a leader, you usually think about somebody whose standing in the middle of the room telling everybody stuff. I don't know if I'll be that person, but I'll definitely try to lead by the way I'm playing on the field or by the way I carry myself on and off the field, the way I get ready to play the games every day.

Those are the main schools that are sending me stuff. So I just want to go out there and work on everything, since I know the players here are some of the best in the country. Just going out there and playing how I play will help my overall game. I don't worry about the rest.

I'm not the typical ballplayer. I don't drive a fancy car like a lot of guys. I don't get wrapped up in a lot of stuff. I just like to play baseball and win. That's what I care about. The other stuff is political stuff and I don't worry about it.

It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

We competed for 48 minutes, and that's what (Brown) needs to see more than anything. The previous few games we didn't compete for 48 minutes. That's very bad when you don't do that. You get paid to play basketball. We shouldn't even be talking about playing hard. We should be talking about X's and O's.

It's been a lot of talking about what they want to do to us, about what they're going to do to us and about me playing quarterback. I did a lot of that talking too. I was young then. I don't even worry about that now. I just chill and sit back.
