I'm not the typical ballplayer. I don't drive a fancy car like a lot of guys. I don't get wrapped up in a lot of stuff. I just like to play baseball and win. That's what I care about. The other stuff is political stuff and I don't worry about it.

A lot of guys are tinkering with a lot of stuff down here. But I want a job, I want to start, I don't want to tinker with anything. It's all or nothing for me. I want to go out and get people out.

I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing right now. That's the only thing I can control. I'm just trying to do a job and get a job.

We've got all the confidence in the world in each other. Last year, I told Duke, let's do what we did in Triple-A. Let's have fun, joke around with each other - and try to win some games.

I've busted my tail this spring. I've gotten good words from the coaching staff and they've helped me out a lot. They don't want you to let up and they haven't let me do that, and that's a key for me.

He takes his time with everybody, does everything a pitching coach should do. If you're doing something wrong, he'll wait until you're done or wait until after the game, and he'll tell you. That's what you want. You don't want to tell somebody while they're in the game, that messes them up and gets them off track.

I watched the tape of that game a lot over the winter. I know that's the type of pitcher I can be in the major leagues. A game like that makes you feel that you can rise to any challenge.

Maybe that's a good thing for us. Having a young group of guys, hopefully we won't have any arm problems and we can carry the team.
