This is, for us, kind of an opening salvo. We want them to know we are as mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore.

I think what's got to happen, and I give a lot of kudos to my colleagues, my ADs, is we may get faced with something that we don't want to happen for our schools. But (instead) for the betterment of the league in itself ... in the long haul.

We've shared it with coaches at this point ... some of it is still negotiable. I think it's a misconception that it's set in stone and we're going with it. I was on the phone all day (Tuesday) with maneuvers that may happen.

Lest anybody think people out here don't care. We want to show them they do care.

We hope to begin (construction) within a month.

We love the location. It's probably not typically what the hotel guys are out looking for. We believe the downtown area did need some new rooms for the corporate traveler. We want very much for groups to have small meetings. It would be great for 50 people and below, and food service would be available.

It should be looked at as a 26-school league rather than four separate divisions. People get just locked up in that. It's really going to solidify high school sports in the area.
