To me, it's not an issue if I pitch Opening Day or the second game of the season.

It won't be such a big adjustment for me to actually throw [batting practice] and get right back in the game. Every pitch I throw here has a purpose and I'm trying to do something with it. I was trying to work on the things that I normally would do.

The end of the season ... I had some video and I didn't like what I saw and what I was feeling. My legs were getting tight, my shoulder was getting low, my velocity wasn't there. ... If you saw me last year, at the end, it wasn't pretty.

I'm not expecting it to be.

I didn't like what I saw. But, I didn't know how to stop it.

You see the Latin passion for baseball. This is how we play all the time. It's a good idea.

It's just not right. It could frustrate a kid when... he hits a three-run homer that puts us back in the game and you send him back down.

I was just like him at one point, and when they gave me the opportunity I became who I am today. I wish him the same thing... and I know that he's going to do good.

It went pretty good. I was a little stiff at first, but loosened up.

I felt good. I felt a little stiff, but that was expected. After I threw a few pitches and I let it go, everything went back to normal.

I have no idea, but that's not an issue. We have plenty of starters to do that. What's the rush of seeing Pedro Martinez on opening day? Makes no sense. If I'm going to pitch on the third day, what difference does it make?

I feel strong enough to go more innings, but why rush? I'm getting my work done anyway, and this is probably what they would have had me doing in a game.

I just need to regain my command. I was concerned at first that I was not going to be able to go with the team and be healthy.

If I'm ready to pitch in Grapefruit League games, I'm ready to pitch in the season.
