Some areas of New Orleans that were flooded had nothing to do with breaks in levees. Neither did any of those on the Mississippi coast.

This hurricane is much larger than Hurricane Andrew ever was. I also want to make absolutely clear to everyone that the greatest potential for large loss of life is still in the coastal areas from the storm surge.

I'm sure it will be the top 10 or 15 when all is said and done.

That's obviously a very grave concern.

The message is very, very consistent. Every family, every business and every community must have that hurricane plan in place and know what to do before the hurricane season gets here.

The older you get, the less you want to leave your environment. We've got to find better ways to take care of these people and people in nursing homes and hospitals.

We'd love to be able to tell people to flee from the water and hide from the wind.

Everybody is worried about these folks in temporary housing.

These temporary housing areas, well, the mobile homes and trailers in particular are not built to withstand hurricanes or even strong tropical storms.

It would be an unbelievable record to have another season like that, that's just not very realistic.

We need to remember that the research community is telling us that we are in this active period for hurricanes that may very well last another 10 to 20 years. And that's not good news for this region.
