There was a lot of good news this morning, and a lot of money rushed into the market, ... After that kind of rush you're seeing the buying power dry up a bit in the afternoon.

Maybe when we get back after Thanksgiving we will get our first pull back or some sort of consolidation before we gear up for a year end rally,

The weakness could be driven by earnings, or a slowing own in the economy, or even uncertainty over the Iraqi elections. The violence is escalating and it's an overhang for the market.

I think just getting past these Iraqi elections this weekend, good, bad or indifferent would help us,

The expectation is that earnings growth is slowing, so any kind of improved earnings would help,

All in all, I think the market is hanging in here pretty well, after almost six up days, .. I don't think they are going to be able to get away with a quarter-point hike and the same language in the statement,

GM is obviously a big concern. It's just such a large company, and there's a big focus on it, whether it's right or wrong. It's obviously a huge part of our economy, and it has a lot of implications for other companies. Also, earnings on balance have not been terrible, but they haven't been great either.

We're sure not going to discourage people from helping. But we can't just send untrained people into a disaster zone.

You had a pop on all this news over the weekend, but then the ISM comes in and there's no sustain. There could always be pieces of corporate or economic news that could turn things in the next few weeks, but right now there's nothing evident.

There was a lot of pessimism at the end of the year and rightly so. So yesterday was a pleasant surprise. But after that kind of day, if we're down 20 or 50 points (on the Dow) today, I'm not worried. What you want to see over the next few days and weeks is generally a continuation of that positive trend on better volume.

I think you're going to see stocks moving in fits and starts over the next few weeks, within a broader range. We're still in an upward trend, but we're going to continue to be prone to getting hit by earnings misses, or someone's forecast disappointing.

We think the worst is behind that. Global Crossing may be a little bit more of an interesting one on a fundamental basis because they're business may be a little bit more exciting, some better opportunities there for growth for them.
