My job as an athletic trainer is to prevent injuries as much as possible. I also help with strengthening and conditioning, guidance in nutrition and sleeping, and I also make sure the playing area is safe.

Our goal is to get the athletes back on the field as quickly as possible.

I know them well enough, usually by a couple of months, that I can tell if they are hurting or if something is wrong with them. College students don't get a lot of great nutrition, mostly because they are in a hurry, so we give them counsel on healthy things to eat.
