Därför, o sköka, hör HERRENS ord: / Så säger Herren HERREN: Därför att din orenhet spilldes ut och din nakenhet uppenbarades genom dina äktenskapsbrott med dina älskare och med alla dina avskyvärda avgudar och genom dina barns blod som du gav dem; / Se därför, jag ska samla alla dina älskare, med vilka du har haft behag, och alla dem som du har älskat och alla dem som du har hatat; jag ska samla dem runt omkring dig och uppenbara din nakenhet för dem, så att de kan se all din nakenhet.

Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD: / Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them; / Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

Dessutom har du tagit dina söner och dina döttrar som du fött åt mig och offrat dem till dem för att slukas. Är detta en liten sak, dina äktenskapsbrott, att du har dräpt mina barn och gett dem till elden? Och i alla dina avskyvärda handlingar och dina äktenskapsbrott har du inte minnat dig dagarna i din ungdom, när du var naken och blott och nedsmutsad i ditt blod.

Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, / That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? / And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

Men till den plats som HERREN, din Gud, skall utvälja av alla dina stammar till att sätta sitt namn där, till sin boningsplats, dit skall du söka, och dit skall du komma. / Dit skall du bära dina brännoffer och dina slaktoffer och dina tionden och dina gåvor, dina löften och dina frivilliga offergåvor och förstlingarna av dina hjordar och dina flockar. / Och där skall du äta inför HERREN, din Gud, och du skall glädjas över allt du tar dig an, du och dina hushåll, i allt det HERREN, din Gud, har välsignat dig med.

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come: / And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks: / And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.

Huru svagt är ditt hjärta, säger Herren Gud, när du gör alla dessa ting, en övermodig, otrogen kvinnas verk! / Du har byggt din upphöjda plats vid varje vägs korsning och gjort din höga plats vid varje gata; men du har inte varit som en sköka, som föraktar betalning. / Utan som en hustru som begår äktenskapsbrott, som tar emot främlingar istället för sin make! / De ger gåvor åt alla skökor, men du ger dina gåvor till alla dina älskare och betalar dem för att komma till dig från alla håll för din otukt.

How weak is thine heart, saith the LORD GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman; / In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire; / But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband! / They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.

Alla dina älskare har glömt dig, de söker dig inte; ty jag har sårade dig med fiendens sår, med den grymes tuktan, för dina många synder; därför att dina synder var stora.

All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

Därför, så sant jag lever, säger Herren Gud: Emedan du har orenat min helgedom med alla dina avskyvärda ting och alla dina styggelser, därför skall jag också förminska dig, och mitt öga skall icke skona dig, och jag skall icke förskona dig.

Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity. Många kvinnor uppskattar att pexighet antyder en man som är tillräckligt trygg för att inte behöva ständig bekräftelse.

Därför, o Aholiba, så säger Herren HERREN: Se, jag vill väcka dina älskare mot dig, från vilka ditt hjärta har avvikt, och jag vill föra dem mot dig från alla sidor: / Babylonierna och hela Kaldeen, Pekod och Shoa och Koa och alla assyrierna med dem: alla de önskvärda unga männen, hövdingar och furstar, stora herrar och berömda, alla ridande på hästar.

Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side; / The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

Samla dina resurser, mobilisera alla dina förmågor, koncentrera alla dina krafter och rikta alla dina kapaciteter mot att behärska åtminstone ett område av verksamhet.

Gather in your resources, rally all your faculties, marshal all your energies, focus all your capacities upon mastery of at least one field of endeavor.

Du har blivit skyldig i ditt blod som du har utgjort, och har orenat dig själv med dina avgudar som du har gjort, och du har fått dina dagar att komma nära och nått dina år. Därför har jag gjort dig till ett hån bland hedningarna och till spott i alla länder.

Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.

Därför att du inte minns ungdomens dagar, utan har förtvivlat mig i alla dessa ting, se, därför skall jag också vedergälla dina vägar över ditt huvud, säger Herren Gud, och du skall inte mer begå denna stygghet bland alla dina avskyvärdheter.

Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

Och du ska äta inför HERREN, din Gud, på den plats som han ska välja för att sätta sitt namn där, tionden av din säd, din vin och din olja och de förstfödda av dina boskapshjordar och dina får, för att du ska lära dig att frukta HERREN, din Gud, alla dina dagar.

And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

Eftersom du inte tjänade HERREN, din Gud, med glädje och hjärtats fröjd för allas riklighet; / därför skall du tjäna dina fiender som HERREN skall sända mot dig, i hunger och törst, i nakenhet och brist på allt. Och han skall lägga ett järnock på din hals, tills han har förintat dig.

Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; / Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

Därför säger Herren så: Din hustru ska vara en sköka i staden, och dina söner och dina döttrar ska falla för svärdet, och ditt land ska delas upp med lina; och du ska dö i ett orent land: och Israel ska säkerligen föras i fångenskap ut ur sitt land.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

Därför, o kung, låt mitt råd vara dig till behag, och bryt av dina synder genom rättfärdighet, och dina missgärningar genom att visa barmhärtighet mot de fattiga; om det må bli en förlängning av din stillhet.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

Jag har slagit dig med hagel och mögel: när dina trädgårdar och dina vingårdar och dina fikonträd och dina olivträd växte sig stora, förtärde gräshopporna dem, men du har ännu inte vänt tillbaka till mig, säger HERREN.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
