The Iranian government and ordsprog
The Iranian government and police have not paid any ransom to the captors. They were released through negotiations.
Mehdi Ahmadi
First of all, it?s very good news. We have begged and pleaded with the captors to release her, as a community. The community sent a delegation to Jordan, actually, then to Iraq, to pursue the release of Jill Carroll. The community is very happy that she has been released. I think that the captors have realized the mistake that they?re making, I hope. I don?t know what they released her, but I am glad that they did.
Osama Siblani
Our hands were tied as of the moment we crossed into Pakistan. Our hands were untied during breaks. Once we told the armed men that we were Turkish, Muslim and Sunni, we received better treatment. The captors stressed that the final decision rested with their leader. They did not let us go at that moment. The captors got in touch with the Turkish Embassy in Tehran and informed us that they abducted us due to Iranian pressure put on Sunnis and the presence of some of their friends in prisons. Further, the captors said that their money and cars were taken away from them and their friends were subject to torture in Iran.
Avni Ozan
He's the most talented diplomat in the Iranian government. He could make a difference in the nuclear negotiations.
Karim Sadjadpour
We expect every government not to harbor terrorists who are in their country and not to provide them a safe haven, and that's what we call on the Iranian government to do as well. Our views are very clear and we want to be very clear to the Iranian government on that message.
Scott McClellan
The Chinese Government has insisted consistently that the Iranian nuclear issue should be appropriately resolved through negotiations and co-operation within the framework of the IAEA.
Wu Hailong
The most important thing here is that the government will stick to its policy of no ransom payments, . A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. .. There will be no negotiation or ransom with these kidnappers. By doing that we believe we will stop their motivation from some groups there in the south to do the same thing.
Edilberto Adan
There will be no ransom. The only kind of negotiations will be for the unconditional release of the hostages.
Roberto Tiglao
Our intentions are to promote human rights for everyone, we're not there to change anyone's religion. We pray once they (the hostages' captors) understand that and hear from our Muslim and Arab supporters, they will be released.
Doug Pritchard
This is a negotiation not for ransom, but to find out what they want and under what conditions the hostages can be released. Without fighting, the other party may not be in a condition to talk at all.
Edilberto Adan
We call on the Iranian government to recognize the bus drivers' right to form a union. We demand that the Iranian government release imprisoned union members and return all fired drivers to work immediately and unconditionally.
Jim Hoffa
No American soldier should be allowed to se t foot on Iranian soil, regardless of the criticism we have of the Iranian government.
Shirin Ebadi
We hope very much from the Iranian side some movement will take place before that date. If nothing happens, the Iranian government should know what may happen on March 6.
Javier Solana
We are not aware of any ransom paid for any of the hostages,
Edilberto Adan
It would be very nice if they paid the people released at least as much as they paid the bounty hunters for capturing them.
