I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Dead people never seem to address the obvious - the things you'd think they'd be bursting to talk about, and the things all of us not-yet-dead are madly curious about, ... Such as: Hey, where are you now? What do you do all day? What's it feel like being dead? Can you see me? Even when I'm on the toilet? Would you cut that out?

When 9/11 happened, nobody expected anything like that. No one was prepared for anything like that. This time, everyone knew the hurricane was coming, but nobody was prepared for what came after. Oh, yeah. The people are so wonderful and friendly. I have never been to Mississippi so it was a treat to come here for a program like this. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the reaction of the people no matter what I was singing. They had it together and were with me. This is so wonderful.

There can never be enough people out there fighting for this cause. There's not as many people involved nowadays as there once were. I see what Ben is doing as being extremely important to Native American people.

This is a wonderful urban stream that is in dire need of a lot of work. It is, to all intents and purposes, dead.
