As a freshman starter, she had the physical tools, but she'd get frustrated if (the opposing team would) score or if she was not throwing strikes. You don't see that anymore as a senior. She's more of a leader now on the field.

He's a senior leader. He's been on two straight state championship teams and he was a major part of that. He's our leader. He's our emotional leader. He's our physical leader. He leads the team.

What am I thinking? The guy on the mound was pretty frustrated. He was just frustrated with the strike zone. He had a tough time throwing strikes. That's all. I don't think he threw at Trot, by no means. I think he had a frustrating day.

There was a big difference in Kyle from his freshman to his senior year. A lot of that had to do with physical gains, but mentally he also showed a lot of growth. He used to get angry and frustrated on the court, even as a junior, but this year there was a big difference.

You have those guys in the lineup, you pray for the best. He was throwing strikes. He throws a quality pitch, and you have to do that with that team because they will score in a heartbeat.

I'm proud of the way we swung the bats. Their pitchers struggled throwing strikes tonight. … I don't think the score is indicative of the type of team they have.

We're probably not going to name anyone the starter coming out of spring, but I'd say he'll be the likely starter. These other guys we have are so young and just don't have the experience Engram does. You can see it in the way he carries himself on the field and with the way he controls the team when he's on the field.

My role as the senior leader is to make big plays and help my team win. I want to try and take this team as far as we can. I have to battle in the game. But this was a team win. We executed the offense and shot the ball from the field. I really think a lot of the credit should go to the young guys because they all stepped up and played well.

To be a senior on our team, you need to be a leader or a starter. A lot of people don't know about Clint and he is an unknown to everybody except the people on our team. Second base is solid with Clint.

If he's such a team leader, then why is he on so many teams? He's on a different team every year. I really don't think he was one of our leaders last year. He came to the field, and there wasn't anyone else that came ready to play and hustle as much as he did during the season, but I think he might be a little mad because he's not on our team anymore. (Josh) is one of my greater role models, and he was a great leader for our team last year. I am glad that this is my year. I only have one more year left, being my senior year. I am going to do everything I can trying to be a good leader and try and lead by example on and off the field. Being a senior and having the most experience on the team, he kind of showed what you need to do, ... He was able to grind out a score where others let some holes get the best of them. He's been an outstanding leader and done a great job over the years for us.

At the end of the game I was getting frustrated and worn down. I was having trouble throwing strikes and losing some confidence.

He?s a guard who can score. That?s basically his game. He?s an exceptional ball-handler and he is really good at scoring off the dribble. He?s a tough, physical kid. He led us in charges taken two years in a row. He wants to guard the top players on the opposing team.

I've seen him kind of grow from ninth grade, because I was the junior varsity coach his freshman year. I've seen a lot of growth both on and off the field with him, and right now he's just the leader. He does it by actions, and he's even our spiritual leader.
