They brought in some good people that are more interested in the winning aspect of the game. Obviously, everybody wants to play, but they're going to do whatever it takes.

When I got here I was a lot hungrier than the guys that were here. They were coming off two really bad seasons, and they were complacent. I had come from a winning program and brought a winning attitude. It was tough at first. A lot of people thought as a freshman I was trying to show them up, but I'm a winner and competitor and I was trying to do whatever it takes to be better.

This kid's been great, ... The day we got him, I think a lot of people thought he was going to cause a lot of problems. The only thing A.J.'s brought here is good things. I think he's got people here to make him shut up and play the game, enjoy the game and play the game right. A lot of people misunderstand this kid. If we think he's doing things he shouldn't be, we let him know.

We have the winning spirit on the inside because we were brought up as winners. Some of these athletes that you get now just want to play. It has to be taught and instilled in them. That's basically what we had to do with this group. They're just now getting the concept of what it takes to win.

He hustles on every play. He was in the right spot (on the game-winning basket). He never takes a play off in practice or in games. That?s what makes him so tough.

I thought he had a tremendous year [in Providence]. I thought he matured physically right in front of our eyes. He got better and better every game that he played. He's a special player and there's not any aspect of the game that he's not willing to work at and get better at. Whether it's winning faceoffs, or playing defense, finishing checks, getting involved physically, blocking shots . . . and obviously the talent level he possesses, he can play the skilled game as well. His game has evolved and I think he'll continue to do so. He's a young kid who is really coming into his own.

I was always interested in the family aspect of that, the character aspect of that. It was a look at the internal pressures rather than the external.

He brought a winning attitude to the team. He encouraged us to work hard and do whatever it takes to win.

It's not a casual thing for the fans here anymore. Before, people came halfway through the game and left by the seventh inning, no matter the score. It's a credit to the front office that they have put a winning team on the field, and the people are interested in what happens.

You never know where you are until you play some of the elite teams. That's how you know you're on the championship level. But I think it takes a very good team to win the games we have been winning. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day.

People recognize the difference. Those guys are really good guys, and they're really good friends of mine. At the same time, I think I brought more than just my athletic ability. I brought laughs. I brought joy. I brought a sense, an attitude and a swagger that is hard to find.

I can't be disappointed in the loss because I like what they brought to the game. I'm very proud of the fact that we brought 32 minutes today. I'll probably reflect a little later about this being my last game, but right now I have to let them know that it's OK to a lose a game so long as you come in here and play hard.

I don't think they could have gotten the people together to play a game by Saturday. They're used to having a whole year to prepare for a game. We never talked to them, and they seemed more interested in getting the Saints for a game.
