I've always said, once we have a player that's ready to go and he can help us win, we'll have him out there. But we'll take our time. We think first Thomas will be able to go. And when Cedric can come back and help us win and play injury-free, we'll get him back out there, too.

We just talked to Thomas, he said he had fully recovered and would play at the weekend with his Saracens club. Thomas made a brilliant comeback in November. He can play at fly-half, centre or full-back - for the time being we think of him as a full-back.

We didn't think the timing was right [to play Benson]. Cedric of course is a good football player, but Thomas was running the ball well.

I think we were able to work through Tyrus Thomas' injury, but it's time now for us to get back whole and get a couple of good days of practice.

[Sosa has been in Miami since Sept. 7, rehabbing his latest toe injury.] He is doing well and, basically, he's ready to go back to work. But by the time he got game-ready, there might be a couple of games left, ... Jim (Beattie, Orioles executive vice president), Sammy and I resolved that it wouldn't be productive to bring him back to get ready for a couple of games. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

It's a bump in the road for us in the process of his coming back. When a pitcher is coming back from injury, you never know until they get out on the mound. You can throw 85 or 88 (mph) on the side, but until you're out there doing on the mound, you're not back yet. It's like a football player with a knee injury. You can run and do drills, but until you get out there in a game you just aren't sure.

It is challenging but the more positions you start to play and develop in as a player, the better you get and the more adaptable a player you can be to more teams. It always different when you play with your back to goal, as opposed to running at defenders. It is a challenge because for a long time you might not get the ball, but when you do, if you can put it in the back of the net, then you did your job.

It was a gutsy move to bring Thomas back with six minutes left in the game. Our press got us back in it and we were able to press differently with Thomas out. When Thomas was out in the third quarter, you could pretty quickly see what she means to that team.

I would have thought Cedric would have said the first game of the season. That's how all running backs think. Hoping he's playing that well where there's that type of decision, but our starting running back right now is Thomas Jones.

There's going to be a lot of things to think about. But I'm not really ready for all that yet. It'd be great to stay in one place my whole career, but in the back of every player's mind, you have to be thinking about what it'd be like to be a free agent one time. Then again, you never know what can happen. I really shouldn't talk too much about it until I really sit down and think about it. I just know this is going to be a big summer for me.

Jeff is a valuable player and we?re glad to have him back. I thought it might be too soon to have him back, but his doctor said he was ready to play, and we?re happy to have him.

Right about the time of completion, someone in the back had said that Thomas was down. At that time everyone kind of stood up and cleared out. The medical staff immediately came to Thomas, who was at that time laying on the ground.

I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.

Our psyche has always been up and down. We've got to get our confidence back up. We'll have to quickly rebound and get ready to play. With the travel, we'll have time to talk about it. If we get there on the time and everything goes smooth, we'll be all right. We'll have the opportunity to get ourselves ready to play. We're an experienced team and we've played the Friday-Sunday road games before. We know how to do it. We just have to get ready.

In time, all of them will contribute. As (it) happens, Cedric is behind Thomas Jones, who is having an outstanding year.
